• There is a high incidence of parvovirus B19 (slapped cheek syndrome) at the moment. This is a common viral infection in children and is usually a mild illness that will get better on its own. Please see NHS website for more information https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/slapped-cheek-syndrome/

    If you are pregnant and have been in contact with someone with parvovirus please ring your midwife or maternity triage for further advice.
